KIRUVERE
MUINASLAAGER
Kiruvere Muinaslaager is a gathering of re-enactors
and enthusiasts of Iron Age, whose goal is to reconstruct
the specific historical period of Estonia and its surrounding
areas. In their goal the re-enactors and enthusiasts
are relying upon the studies of archaeologists and historians. The historical period of Kiruvere Muinaslaager is set
between the 9th and 12th century AD (roughly the years
850-1150 AD) and geographically centred on Estonia.
Come and visit the world a thousand years ago. See mighty warriors, skilled craftsmen and much more.

Kiruvere Muinaslaager
In 2007 we started – in cooperation with historical
re-enactment groups REAS and Rotelevik – the first
annual Kiruvere Muinaslaager – a gathering of
re-enactors and history enthusiasts of Estonian Viking
Age.
Besides re-enactors and enthusiasts the team behind
Kiruvere Muinaslaager comprises the following specialists
of archaeology, ethnography, handicraft, arts, ancient
technologies etc.
o Lennart Mänd – Estonian Academy of Arts,
Faculty of Design, Dean;
o Marika Mägi – Tallinn University Institute
of History, Archaeology Department, professor, head
of department;
o Ave Matsin – University of Tartu Viljandi Culture
Academy, National Handicraft, head of department;
o Ene Tapfer – freelance ceramicist;
o Heiki Mürk – leading specialst of restoration in HiiumaaTraining Centre;
o Indrek Jets – Haapsalu Kunstikool;
o Kaupo Kangur – freelance blacksmith;
